17. Salok Bhagat Kabeer Ji Ke: 4 - Ang 1364 Dhan Shri Guru Granth Sahib Ji

The gold ornaments studded with red jewels look like flames of fire. That is everyone notices them and the individual wearing them. Such ornaments signify riches, lavish life, show-off of and pompous life style. But for Devotee like Kabeer Ji, who is attuned with mind and heart to The Lord, such ornaments look like burnt twigs. How that is possible? Well, wearing such ornaments, if not attached to 'Naam of The Lord’ will give rise to ego. How? Almost all mortals will take excessive pride in holding such riches, people will appreciate the beauty adding more fuel to ego and those who don't have will grow jealous and may also burn in fire of greed with fire of jealousy. And what fire does best; it burns the forest and make trees look like burnt twigs. So words of Devotee Kabeer Ji signify: Gathering worldly riches without attuning to Lord is futile, One should give up wrong lifestyle and attune himself to The Lord, One who us truly spiritual is not distracted by afflue...

16. एक यात्रा - अंतर्मन की - एक पतित

Image

14. Book What Is an Indian: Youth and Night Life

Image
When we hear the term Night Life, most of us visualize people dancing crazily after getting drunk. Well this is dark aspect of night life which is unfortunately engulfing youth of every county. In ideal words night life should mean that an individual can move freely in night like day. He does not face any limitations associated with security, food, fun etc. But with the most common mindset, only fun with ‘Sinister Attributes’ are correlated with night life. Further security becomes a challenge and concern when people no longer remain in their senses [1] . Most of the personal vendetta is picked up during ‘night life’. Night life, the term seemed to be coined in West, to throw away loads of surplus affluence down the drain [2] . The outlets of such money are factors responsible for ever diminishing morals like alcoholism, drugs, gambling, casual ‘sexual encounters’ etc for fun. Indulgence in such activities can even take ugly turns such as violence, murders or rapes especial...

12. Salok Bhagat Kabeer Ji Ke: 3 - Ang 1364 Dhan Shri Guru Granth Sahib Ji

Subjected to sorrows, difficult time and faith of an individual gets shattered. He finds himself all over the place. He begins to question his faith, why it has happened? It seems to him that faith hurts, he asks how being a faith bearer he suffered? Well, if he asks such questions then he never had faith. And he succumbs to malpractices to find happiness. He was always under illusion of having faith. Else he would have consoled himself like Devotee Kabeer Ji.  Words uttered by Devotee Kabeer Ji signify that: All the happiness come from One Formless Lord, Only faith can save the honor of individual as it keeps him in touch with the Lord, In tough time hold onto your faith and keep saying to yourself what Devotee Kabeer Ji is saying to himself, Other than One Formless Lord no one can save an individual, HE is The Savior of all time even when time was not present and even when time will not be present. Dhan Shri Guru Granth Sahib Ji 🙏🙏🙏

11. Teachers Day with Dhan Shri Guru Granth Sahib Ji

Image
Today the whole of India is celebrating Teacher's Day. Students are congratulating and thanking their teachers. But did we spare some time to thank 'The Real Teacher - The Great Guru'? Nah! Why? Because we remember Him in hours of needs; in moments of troubles; in times of pain; in periods of suffering. So, the bitter reality is if life is smooth, without troubles then we have a tendency to forget Him. His thoughts elude us. That is the irony of human life we all have been living. We don't want to remember what all He has given us. Well, if we start thanking Him it should have ideally begun from the moment we were born. And if we live a life of 100 years by His Grace and remember Him every moment still our gratitude will be insufficient to thank Him. But a moment spent in His remembrance with all the devotion would be good enough to thank 'The Great Guru - Dhan Shri Guru Granth Sahib Ji'. Let us spare a few moments this Teacher's Day to express o...

10. Kargil War

Image
I wrote this article in 2008 to pay my tribute to Kargil War Heroes.  The article highlights the impact of Kargil War, fought in 1999, on India’s present. All the soldiers who have died in the Kargil War were not associated with me but now there loss hurt me. Over years, I have realized that they were mine so what I had not met them at any instance. We shared a relationship so what they were not part of my kinship. I might have realized the association when the war was on, but never took it to next level since I was more worried about my higher education in USA. They and I both were concerned. They were trying to throw out the ‘rodents’ and I was planning to leave the country. One was determined to die and other was trying to live. There were so much difference between our thoughts but still we shared a common bond. Yeah, to everyone we were citizens of same country. The blood which was spilt on Himalayas never had the same genes as mine but still we were brothers. I was selfish an...
